This is the final type of jump smock. Introduced in late '43 or early '44. They were printed with either Luftwaffe Splinter or Tan Water camouflage patterns and were made of twill, heavy poplin, or flimsy rayon sheeting. They can be worn loose at the bottom for mobility and comfort, or snapped up to simulate the short legs of the older step-in varieties. They have a button front hidden by a fly, wind cuffs, and four covered zipper pockets. There is a sewn-in holster for a flare gun on the right rear.

That's our reproduction at right. The camouflage pattern is the Luftwaffe Splinter "B" pattern on a light green base printed on 100% cotton material. The many snaps are made by Prym, the same company as made those used on WW2 German jump smocks. Our repro features the internal half-sleeves (wind cuffs) from elbow to wrist and vented open armpits. In short, every stitch was taken from an original, like everything else we make. As always, this is the finest sewing you'll find on any WWII reproduction garment.

A word about our fabric.
Because there was such a wide color spectrum used in the original uniforms, we make these uniforms in various shades due to what cloth is available to us. We've gotten positive and negative feedback from different customers on the very same pieces, saying the color does or does not match with an original item they have in their collection. It's impossible for us to make and stock every known shade of camouglage base and we cannot guarantee shade choices. Again, we make from what cloth is available to us and that we can tell you that what we choose is 100% correct or we would not make it at all.
