This shirt was introduced in 1940. It is the pullover style and was the first German Army shirt set up for wear without a field blouse. It had two pleated chest pockets with scalloped flaps and removeable pebbled buttons. The shirt also had the shoulder loops and buttons for the shoulder straps, which showed the soldiers branch and rank. They have the correct long length, side slits, side gussets, and the long triangular underarm gusset. These woven cotton or linen shirts are in olive green.

A word about our fabric.
Because there was such a wide color spectrum used in the original uniforms, we make these uniforms in various shades and sometimes we vary the weight of the twill. We've gotten positive and negative feedback from different customers on the very same pieces, saying the color does or does not match with an original item they have in their collection. It's impossible for us to make and stock every known shade of Army tropical olive and we cannot guarantee shade choices.
