The reed green herringbone twill (HBT) summer field blouse was altered to eliminate the pocket flap scallops in 1943. This resulted in what collectors call the "M43" blouse. Aside from the elimation of the scalloped flaps and the pleated pockets (already dropped on the "M42"), this uniform jacket is identical to the 1940 summer field blouse.
