A much cooler cap in hot weather than wool, these were made from reed green herringbone twill (HBT) to the same pattern as the Army tropical visor cap. These are known to have been used in Italy and southern France. This style is rarer than the HBT Schiffchen, and originals are not often encountered. Our version of this HBT copies those that were lined with rayon, although completely unlined originals may be encountered.
