Heer "Swallow-tailed" Standard (Truppenfahne)

Referred to at the time as "Truppenfahnen" or "Feldzeichen," the standard was used for ceremonial occasions and retained the pattern of the traditional "Old Army" during the Inter-war years. It was only until Hitler became Chancellor was the army introduced with a new standard on March 16, 1936. Selected units presented the new colors 6 months later on Armed Forces Day of the Reich Party Rally in Nuremburg. On August 28, 1944, this flag was replaced with the Reich War Flag by orders of the Führer. New recruits would now give their oath with the War Flag instead of the traditional method of using their colors. Less that a month later, these standards were ordered to be handed over to the Armed Forces Museum in Berlin because of the war situation.

These reproduction standards are beautiful and highly accurate in every detail. Materials and background colors are exacty like originals. All hand-sewn, the silver bullion embroidery is incredible to look at. The swallow-tailed standard measures around 31" x 22", is double sided and bordered with silver bullion fringe. The iron cross in the center is bordered with tress. These standards can be mounted on a pole or post. They're perfect for every army reenacting unit that performs parades or has barracks impressions.
